All-Natural Hot Tub Solutions

The answer is YES and we have been doing it for almost a decade now!

We purchased our hot tub in Feb 2016 and it has been running 24/7 all year for over 8 years now.  We had only had to replace one pump in that time and it still looks brand new. The repair technician was surprised at how clean the piping was and could not believe it was as old as it was. Plus, our day-to-day maintenance costs are much less than those who use harsh chemicals. And we spend so much less time measuring and testing. 

We had very hard water and had no hard water build-up at all. At first, we were worried we would have build-up in the pipes and ruin our tub so we started using the stain and scale products. But these toxic products made the water worse and caused build-up. Once we stopped using those products our water has been clear, smells great, and feels great on the skin. 

 

Using natural products in your hot tub can enhance your relaxation experience while ensuring a safe environment, especially for children.  

I should note that I had a chemical hot tub in 2009 for about 9 months. It was so much more time-consuming and more costly to look after. Especially if you are using regular toxin-based laundry detergent. It will throw your chemicals off a lot.  Then if drinks get spilled in the tub that will through off your balance too. With a chemical-free tub, you can avoid all of the hassle. 

 

We use 1-2 capfuls of thieves cleaner every week or two depending on how much we have been in it. By we, I mean the grandchildren LOL. Let it circulate for about 15 -20 minutes, then scoop out the foam residue and wipe down the edges of the tub. 

 

We add 1 bottle of the enzymes from The Natural Solution line every 3 months. 

 

We add 6 drops of geranium essential oil plus 6-8 drops of other oils of your choosing such as Wintergreen, Ylang Ylang, Deep Relief, etc to 1-2 cup Epsom salts each time we get in. The salts work as an emulsifier, helping the oils to disperse evenly throughout the water. This ensures that you enjoy the full therapeutic benefits of the essential oils as you soak. Epsom Salt also helps soften the water.  Plus, the minerals in Epsom salts further support relaxation and muscle relief, making it a perfect duo for your relaxation!

To clean the filters - Hose down the filter with a high-pressure hose and then soak it overnight in the thieves/water mix. Use a large container and fill it with warm water plus 1 cap of Thieves household cleaner. Hose it down again and it is ready to put back in. You can alternate with 2 filters. We have also put our filters in the dishwasher with Thieves Household Cleaner and Vinegar to give them a good clean.
